Proxy Basics

An ISP proxy — also called a static residential proxy — is an IP address hosted in a datacenter but registered to a real Internet Service Provider. Target sites see it as a legitimate residential connection, so you get the trust profile of a home IP combined with datacenter-grade speed and stability.
Rotating residential proxies assign a different IP from a shared pool on each request. You can also configure a sticky session to keep using the assigned IP for a period of time. They are billed by bandwidth (per GB). ISP proxies provide fixed, dedicated IPs that remain unchanged until you replace them, are billed per IP, and include unlimited bandwidth. They are better suited to scenarios requiring a persistent identity, stable sessions, and predictable costs.
It depends on your target. ISP proxies (static residential) are the best all-rounder — they look like real residential connections but offer datacenter-level stability and speed. They're ideal for e-commerce, SERP monitoring, and data pipelines that need persistent sessions. For high-volume, low-sensitivity targets, datacenter proxies offer maximum speed. For hyper-restricted targets or mobile-specific content, mobile proxies give the deepest cover.

Yes. Country-level targeting is available across all 265+ supported locations. City-level targeting is available in 210+ metro areas. You set the target inline in your proxy credentials — no separate config file needed. ASN-level targeting is also available for scenarios where you need to appear on a specific network.
Sessions & Performance
ISP proxies are static by design — you keep the same IP for the full duration of your subscription with no forced rotation. This makes them ideal for authenticated sessions, account management, and long-running collection jobs.
First, switch to rotating mode so each request uses a fresh IP. Second, add realistic request headers (User-Agent, Accept-Language, Referer) to reduce fingerprint signals. Third, lower your request rate and add randomized delays. If blocks persist on a specific target, contact our support team — we can help tune your session strategy or recommend a different proxy type for that site.
Integration
Yes. Any tool that supports standard HTTP/HTTPS proxy configuration will work — including Scrapy, Puppeteer, Playwright, Selenium, Cheerio, and Octoparse. Just point the tool's proxy setting to your ROLA-IP gateway URL with your credentials. Our docs include copy-paste snippets for each framework.
ROLA-IP provides the proxy infrastructure — for JS rendering you'll pair it with a headless browser like Puppeteer or Playwright. Route the browser's traffic through your ROLA-IP gateway and you get both JS execution and residential IP coverage. Our docs show exactly how to configure this.
Both username/password authentication and IP whitelisting are supported. You can configure either (or both) from the dashboard and switch at any time.
Pricing & Trial
Yes. You can test the network on a 7-day free trial before committing — no credit card required to start. Trial accounts include 5 ISP IPs and dashboard access.
You pay a flat monthly price for each IP in your plan. Bandwidth is unlimited and included — there are no per-GB charges, no overage fees, and no hidden line items. Your monthly cost is the same whether you send one request or millions.
Yes. Teams commonly start on smaller plans and move into larger allocations or enterprise pricing as their production workloads grow.
Compliance & Restrictions
Scraping publicly available data is generally legal in most jurisdictions, particularly after the hiQ v. LinkedIn ruling affirmed access to public information. However, legality depends on what data is collected, how it's used, and the target site's terms. We recommend reviewing applicable laws and consulting legal counsel for your specific use case. ROLA-IP IPs may only be used to access data you're authorized to collect.
Our proxies can access most publicly available websites. All usage must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy, which prohibits illegal activity, credential abuse, spam, payment fraud, and attacks on third-party services.
Yes. We align with GDPR and CCPA, source all IPs ethically through consent-based ISP partnerships, and can provide a DPA, ISO 27001 documentation, SOC 2 Type II report access, and security audit details on request.
